How to reduce the temperature of DC power supply evaporative cooling technology

With the development of high frequency and miniaturization of DC power supply, the power density of DC power supply is increasing, and the research of power supply heating becomes more and more important. Temperature is one of the important factors affecting the reliability of DC power supply.

When the temperature of the equipment is higher than its nominal working temperature by 10 ℃, the reliability of the equipment will be reduced by half. Exceeding the limit will lead to equipment damage and power failure. In addition to selecting low-power equipment and optimizing network topology to reduce module heating, safe and reliable cooling mode has become the key to the sustainable development of DC power supply in the direction of high power density.

It should be understood that there are three traditional cooling methods: natural convection cooling, forced air cooling or forced water cooling. In view of the limited technical level of air cooling (natural convection and forced air cooling), the structure of forced air cooling management system is complex and the reliability is low, and the DC power supply urgently needs to provide a safe and reliable cooling mode with strong cooling capacity.

The traditional evaporative cooling adopts the form of full immersion, surface mount and cooling spray pipe. Its structure depends on the thermal characteristics of the heat generator and the cooling mode selected. The DC power supply has the characteristics of large quantity, discrete distribution, uneven heating and complex heat source geometry. The power management module can be directly immersed in the cooling medium through full immersion evaporative cooling.

The heating device can be fully developed and directly contacted with the cooling medium, with good cooling effect, simple system design structure and high reliability. It is the preferred structure for applying evaporative cooling technology to DC power supply.

Full immersion evaporative cooling DC power supply not only has simple cooling structure, but also has low steady-state temperature rise, uniform temperature distribution, no local overheating in dynamic process and low thermal stress. In addition, immersion evaporation does not require special pipe design to cool the DC power supply. Its advantage is that the equipment layout is more flexible, the power supply size is reduced, and the power density is increased.

When the full immersion evaporative cooling DC power supply is started, the temperature environment change rate of main components is low, and there is no instantaneous temperature overshoot during shutdown, which reduces the thermal shock and thermal stress caused by the continuous change and development of temperature, improves the safety and reliability of student power supply management and operation, meets the cooling technical requirements of DC power supply, and has a good application market prospect in the field of DC power supply cooling.
